Can I log in to my.unimelb if I am no longer a student?

Your my.unimelb account will be deactivated 12 months after you graduate. Thereafter, your account will no longer be valid unless you register for a new course at the University. Please note that reactivating your student account does not guarantee access to your previous student data.

You may want to request an alumni email address (yourprefix@alumni.unimelb.edu.au) so that you can stay in touch with the University and receive benefits that are only granted to alumni members.

This is not a separate e-mail account; it is an e-mail forwarding mechanism that allows you to automatically direct e-mail to an account of your choice. You can activate this address through the alumni website below.

How do I access my student email if Gmail is not accessible in my area?

University email accounts are hosted and supported by Google Mail (Gmail), which is not accessible in certain countries such as China. If Gmail is not accessible in your area, you will not be able to access Google's email services directly through my.unimelb or the Google App Direct Sign In page.

To access your student email from anywhere in the world, we recommend that you forward your email to another email account:

Your student username will appear in your list of University accounts. To reset your password, press the 'Reset' button next to the relevant account name. Make sure your new password meets the requirements on the right hand side of the page.

Please note that your username cannot be changed as it is a reflection of your name.

The username is different fromemail alias; the username does not contain a period. For example, "j.blogs" would be the student's e-mail alias, not the username.
