International Christian University (ICU), abbreviated as "ICU", was founded in 1949 as an internationalized comprehensive liberal arts university in Japan under the name of International Christian University by a joint decision of the Church of Christ in Japan and the Church of Christ in the United States of America to To promote worldwide exchange and global peace and development. ICU is a private university in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, focusing on humanities and social sciences, and is a member of the Super Internationalized Universities Program. ICU is known for its elite education and internationalization, and is ranked 11th in the 2020 Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings.

ICU is unique as a fully bilingual campus, with classes taught in either English or Japanese, and all faculty are required to have strong command of both languages. The university has been recognized by Forbes as one of Asia's top 10 liberal arts colleges and ranked among the best private universities in Japan in the 2020 Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings.
