Greetings! I am pleased to inform you that, as we announced last year, theGoogle Workspace for Education shared storage policy to be updated soon. To better prepare for this change, you need to be ready for the following:

• Confirm your organization's available storage space.
• Confirm the date your domain implemented the new shared storage space policy.
• See related resources for new storage space management tools.

Total unit organizational capacity

renewed Google Workspace for Education Shared Storage ModelingNot only do you provide 100TB of basic shared storage for all your users, but you also provide additional storage for the following customers:

• For organizations with more than 20,000 active users*, the organization will automatically receive an additional 5GB of basic storage for each user beyond that.
  *The number of active users is the maximum number of 30-day unique identity logged-in users in the last 180 days, which can be found in theView in Management Console. The system automatically updates this value twice a year and adjusts your total storage space accordingly.

• For Google Workspace Education Edition customers using the following version:
  • Google Workspace Education Plus EditionFor customers who continue to use G Suite Enterprise Edition for Education (Older Edition), an additional 100 GB of shared storage space is available for each paid employee license. For customers who continue to use G Suite Enterprise for Education (legacy) licenses, an additional 100 GB of shared storage is also available for each paid employee license.
  • Teaching and Learning Upgrade: An additional 100 GB of shared storage space is available for each license of this version.

Important Notes: Based on the above policy, the available storage space for the unit is 100 TB. new shared storage space policies applicable to organizations will be Jul-22Effective.

In order to give administrators a clearer understanding, control, and insight into your organization's storage space usage, we have released new storage space management tools. It is recommended that you use these new tools on a regular basis to see how much storage space your organization is using and how much free storage space you have left. With these new storage management tools, you can do the following:

• View a summary of storage space usage across the organization.
• See how much storage space is used by a specific product, such as a cloud drive or Gmail.
• View the top users in your organization in terms of storage space usage.
• See the top-ranked shared cloud drives for storage space usage in your organization.
• Get a warning about the storage space limit for the domain.
• Get a detailed report on storage space usage.
• Set storage space limits for individual users by organizational unit (OU) or group.
• Delete a shared cloud drive through the management console.
